Separate generation, timing, storage and backup

A solar or battery decision contains several different energy paths. Solar used immediately can avoid imported energy; solar exported may receive another credit; battery charging and discharging lose energy; backup reserve may not be available for daily rate shifting. Model each path once so the same kWh is never counted twice.

Decision boundary: Energy value is not project payback. Equipment price, finance, degradation, installation, incentives, power limits and safety design need current local evidence and professional checks.
